How the ADDIE framework builds effective leadership development
Why We Use ADDIE to Shape the Resilient Leaders Program
Creating leadership development that sticks requires structure, not guesswork. That’s why the Resilient Leaders Program is built around the ADDIE framework Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.
Originally developed by the U.S. military for systematic training, ADDIE remains a trusted model because it ensures every learning experience is intentional, targeted, and measurable. By following this framework, we design programs that drive real leadership growth aligned with business goals.
How ADDIE Powers the Resilient Leaders Program
Analysis: We start by understanding the business context, identifying leadership gaps, and defining specific goals.
As Stephen R. Covey said, “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”
Surveys alone are not enough. We conduct interviews, map business objectives, and use discovery sessions to ensure any data gathered is meaningful. Depending on the organization’s complexity, this process can take several weeks to get right.
Design: Next, we develop training objectives based on the target audience’s needs. We map out the learning journey, customize content to align with business challenges, and create the structure for how concepts, skills, and application will build over time.
Development: This is where we create materials, choose instructional methods, and prepare content for delivery. Whether it’s virtual, in-person, or self-paced, every asset is built to match the learning design.
Implementation: We deliver the training using the best methods for the audience—live virtual sessions, in-person workshops, or blended learning. Flexible delivery options allow organizations to scale leadership development across teams, time zones, and learning styles.
Evaluation: Finally, we assess both during and after delivery. We conduct formative evaluations throughout the development process and summative evaluations after program completion to measure impact and guide improvements.
Other Models That Strengthen Our Approach
While ADDIE is the backbone of our process, we also draw from:
Kirkpatrick’s Model to measure not just satisfaction, but behavior change and business results.
Bloom’s Taxonomy to design activities that build higher-order thinking skills essential for resilient leadership.
By layering these models into the ADDIE structure, we ensure the Resilient Leaders Program moves beyond knowledge delivery to build lasting leadership capabilities.
