Resilience and Growth Mindset for Leaders

Dr. Carol Dweck and Angel Duckworth introduced the concepts of Growth Mindset and Resiliency into forefront of leadership practices through their popular TedTalks. What we’ve learned about resilient leaders is that grit and growth mindset are complimentary skills that when leveraged on a consistent basis helps leaders navigate volatile, uncertain, challenging, and ambiguous (VUCA) environments.

Change is inevitable in leadership and is a constant that across sectors leaders can agree upon. Along with constant change comes stress. Dr. Dweck, explains that by tapping to growth mindset vs. fixed mindset challenges are welcomed as an opportunity to evolve. Growth mindset provides leaders with an outlook that challenges are not just expected but accepted.
